MaryJane Weed associated with lower blood sugar

May 23, 2013

A new study published in the American Journal of Medicine has revealed a potential benefit from the use of cannabis. The article, entitled “The Impact of Marijuana Use on Glucose, Insulin, and Insulin Resistance among U.S. Adults,” investigated the blood sugar-related effects of cannabis use among participants in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2005 to 2010.

In several other studies of large populations, lower rates of both obesity and diabetes have been noted among users of cannabis, as compared with non-users. This curious fact encouraged the three primary authors of the study to examine cannabis use among the 4657 participants in the national survey. The researchers noted that although cannabis smokers generally consume more calories than non-users, they paradoxically live with lower body mass indexes (BMIs) and reduced rates of both obesity and diabetes. Of the participants in the national survey, 579 were currently using cannabis and 1975 had previously used cannabis.

Media shocked to discover Obama does not love them back

May 23, 2013

Somewhere, Andrew Breitbart is smiling. You can almost see the metaphorical light bulbs going on in bubbles over the heads of liberal media figures. Obama loyalists are expressing outrage at the subpoenaing of the phone records of 20 lines serving over a hundred AP reporters.
The timing could not be better. Just days after it has sunk in on the White House press corps that the administration has been lying through their teeth about Benghazi. On the very day that the AP published its own outraged account of the subpoena, calling it a “massive and unprecedented intrusion” into how news organizations gather the news, the president held a joint presser with David Cameron that earned him four Pinocchios from the WaPo’s fact checker, Glenn Kessler, calling the talking points a “sideshow.”
To my mind, the AP scandal’s significance entirely lies with its effect on the media’s mindset on Obama. They have been cheerleading for him for six years, now. But that old story – the young, brilliant, dynamic, athletic, “sort of a god” guy who was going to unite us – is not selling anymore. So they need a new narrative.

Fluoride for the water supply banned in Portland Oregon

May 23, 2013

(NaturalNews) Voters in Portland, Oregon solidly defeated a city-wide water fluoridation measure yesterday, with 60% of the voters saying “NO!” to the practice of adding toxic fluoride chemicals to the water.

The result is a huge victory for http://www.CleanWaterPortland.org and all the men, women and children of Portland who can now rest easier, knowing their tap water is not intentionally poisoned with cancer-causing chemicals derived from industrial waste and mislabeled “fluoride.”

The defeat of the measure absolutely infuriated fluoride-pushing doctors and dentists, many of whom resorted to using outrageous lies and dirty tricks during the entire campaign. These lies include whoppers like, “Drinking fluoride has never harmed anyone” and “this is naturally-occurring fluoride, therefore it’s safe.”

Military suffers wave of ‘Gay’ sex assaults

May 23, 2013

A recent military report on sexual assault in the military shocked many in Washington and around the nation, but a leading expert on military personnel revealed the prevalence of men assaulting other men is one of the major headlines in this study.

The extended analysis of the report first appeared in Monday’s edition of the the Washington Times.

The Defense Department survey of sexual assault in the military during fiscal 2012 estimated 26,000 assaults took place in the armed forces. Nearly 3,000 of them were formally reported. Just more than 6 percent of women reported being victims of assault and 1.2 percent of men said the same. Given the much larger number of men in the military, those numbers suggest 14,000 of the assaults in the Pentagon study happened to men.

Among the assaults formally reported, 88 percent of reports came from women and 12 percent from men. The numbers are getting dramatically worse.

“The number of reports of sexual assaults among military personnel have actually increased by 129 percent since 2004,” said Center for Military Readiness President Elaine Donnelly, who pointed out the number of formal reports of sexual assault jumped from 1,275 to 2,949 in just eight years.

She told WND when factoring in civilians working for or around the military, the increase in that time is 98 percent.

Women are identified as the attacker in just two percent of all assaults, meaning most men who suffer assault are targeted by other men.

“So we’ve got a male-on-male problem here. The Department of Defense doesn’t want to comment on this. They know that the numbers are there. They say that they care, but all the attention is usually given to the female members of the military who are subjected to sexual assault,” Donnelly said.

The Washington Times article also includes analysis from Aaron Belkin, who heads The Palm Center. He said the rise in male-on-male sexual assault does not reflect the increase of homosexuals in the military but, rather, those assaults are ”somewhat similar to prison rape.”

“Well, that’s a great slogan to use for recruiting young men into the military, isn’t it? It’s outrageous. And yet, the Department of Defense doesn’t quite know what to do with these figures, and so they just sort of put them in there and hope nobody notices,” said Donnelly, who points out The Palm Center is a homosexual activist organization.

Is sex with Jailbait OK for gay people?

Over the past few days, news surrounding the charges that have been brought against Kaitlyn Hunt, 18, has spread quickly, with emotional responses ringing out from all sides. As TheBlaze previously reported, the high school senior was arrested in February after a relationship she had with a younger, female student at her school came to light. Her girlfriend, now 15, was not of legal age to be engaged in sexual behaviors with Hunt; now, she could face prison time.

Despite the family’s plea with the public — and officials — to throw out the charges, the government has no plans to comply with the parents’ request. On Monday, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office officially responded to the public uproar during a press conference. Authorities doubled-down on the charges against Hunt, CBS reports.

Despite furor from some who are focusing upon the fact that the case involves a same-sex relationship, police say that the facts would be the same regardless of the genders of those involved.

“If this was an 18-year-old male and that was a 14-year-old girl, it would have been prosecuted the same way,” Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar said
