The frustration, say immigration advocates, is reaching a fever pitch.
That is why, many say, recent weeks have seen activists use chains and pipes to tie themselves to the tires of buses that carry immigrants slated for deportation to court, block traffic on Capitol Hill and get arrested, surround Tucson police when they targeted two immigrants during a traffic stop, and chain themselves and block the entrance of a federal detention center.
More such actions, they vow, are coming.

Members of the White House Press corps laughed out loud Friday when White House Press Secretary Jay Carney tried to tell them that the amnesty bill currently being debated in Congress would “raise wages.”
When asked if immigration “was part of the economy,” Carney enthusiastically said, “It is!”
Carney then began saying, “In fact, comprehensive immigration reform,” but quickly interrupted himself to take a jab at the media. “I’m sure this is of interest to at least one reporter,” he quipped.
Carney continued, saying that the amnesty bill would “significantly reduce our deficit” and “raise wages.”
As soon as the Press Secretary said that wages would go up, the laughter of several reporters filled the room.

Why does it seem like Barack Obama has been doing everything that he can to sabotage our border security and promote more illegal immigration? The number one responsibility of the president of the United States is to defend our nation, and yet Obama stubbornly refuses to secure our borders. President Barack Obama is set to reject the key compromise at the heart of a bipartisan deal on immigration reform announced by eight Senators yesterday. The president, who will deliver an address later today in Las Vegas, NV outlining his own immigration ideas, is reported to oppose linking a “path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants, a Democrat demand, to stronger law enforcement and better border security, a Republican demand.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, President Barack Obama’s point man on the fiscal cliff negotiations, presented Republican leaders a proposal to avoid the fiscal cliff on Thursday, which gives Obama unprecedented powers to raise the debt ceiling whenever he wants.
The White House proposal includes $1.6 trillion in tax increases, a one-year deferral of sequestration, and $400 billion in savings from Medicare and other programs.
In addition, the White House’s initial offer also gives Obama the authority to raise the debt ceiling essentially to infinity without congressional approval and a “multi-year” stimulus package that would be “at least” $50 billion for fiscal year 2013.
Republican aides have noted that the White House’s proposal already breaks Obama’s campaign promise of taking a “balanced” approach to the fiscal cliff negotiations. His plan contains four times as much increased tax collection ($1.6 trillion) as spending cuts ($400 billion). Further, the White House proposal includes a new round of multi-year stimulus programs that would be “at least” $50 billion for fiscal year 2013, which, over time, would more than offset the $400 billion in claimed initial savings.
