Dangerous diseases and Border Jumpers

November 11, 2014

The Chagas virus is a potentially lethal disease that international health authorities virtually universally agree has been brought to the United States in the flood of “unaccompanied minors” this year.

The United Nations World Health Organization describes Chagas disease as a “potentially life-threatening illness caused by the protozoan parasite, Trypanosoma cruzi (T. cruzi).”

“It is found mainly in endemic areas of 21 Latin American countries,” WHO says, “where it is mostly vector-borne transmitted to humans by contact with faeces of triatomine bugs, known as ‘kissing bugs,’ among other names, depending on the geographical area.”

A 2007 report titled “Chagas Disease: A Latin American Nemesis,” prepared by the Institute for One World Health under a grant donated by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, documented that Chagas disease “is an insidious, potentially fatal parasitic disease that is widespread in Latin America affection 10-14 million or more.”

White House press corps laughs at Jay Carney

July 22, 2013

Members of the White House Press corps laughed out loud Friday when White House Press Secretary Jay Carney tried to tell them that the amnesty bill currently being debated in Congress would “raise wages.”
When asked if immigration “was part of the economy,” Carney enthusiastically said, “It is!”
Carney then began saying, “In fact, comprehensive immigration reform,” but quickly interrupted himself to take a jab at the media. “I’m sure this is of interest to at least one reporter,” he quipped.
Carney continued, saying that the amnesty bill would “significantly reduce our deficit” and “raise wages.”
As soon as the Press Secretary said that wages would go up, the laughter of several reporters filled the room.

5 Democratic Senators ramrodding the immigration bill can’t answer a key question about it

June 26, 2013

Five Democratic senators who support the comprehensive immigration reform bill were pressed Tuesday on a controversial provision that would reportedly create a financial incentive for some employers to hire non-citizens granted legal status over American citizens.

Not one of those five senators were able to address this key concern found in the current bill.

Amnesty bill passage paves the road to dictatorship

June 15, 2013

When Republicans start lying like Democrats, you can guess they are pushing an idea that’s bad for America. During his William Ginsburg-like tour of the Sunday talk shows last weekend, Sen. Marco Rubio was the Mount Vesuvius of lies about his immigration bill.

Here is how Rubio explained the powerful border-enforcing mechanism in his bill on “Fox News Sunday,” which he denied was merely a meaningless goal:

“Basically, Homeland Security will have five years to meet that goal. If after five years, Homeland Security has not met that number, it will trigger the Border Commission, who will then take over this issue for them.”

So the water torture awaiting the Department of Homeland Security if it fails to secure the border is … ANOTHER GOVERNMENT COMMISSION WILL BE CREATED! Take that, Homeland Security! Ha — we have you now!

The only thing more frightening than “another government commission” is a “strongly worded letter.”

Rubio said his comprehensive immigration plan isn’t amnesty because “amnesty is anything that says ‘do it illegally, it will be cheaper and easier.'” But, he assures us, it’s “cheaper, faster and easier for people to go back home and wait 10 years” — as the law currently requires — “than it will be to go through this process that I’ve outlined.”

Then why is he doing it? If it’s “cheaper, faster and easier” for illegals to apply for citizenship under current law, what exactly does Rubio’s plan accomplish?

Is it to encourage illegals to go home and apply through normal channels? You know, since that’s so much easier. Then why does he oppose enforcing the law on the books now? He dismisses enforcement of current law as trying to make “life miserable to them so that they’ll self-deport,” which he claims won’t work.

Does his plan make them just a little bit miserable so maybe some of them will “self-deport”? (Which doesn’t work, according to him.) Or is he lying about it being “cheaper, faster and easier for people to go back home”?

Democrats demand border jumpers made legal for massive voting bloc

May 19, 2013

The Heritage Foundation recently issued a comprehensive report showing that Sen. Marco Rubio’s plan to instantly legalize 11.5 million illegal immigrants would add $6.3 trillion to the nation’s budget deficits over the next 50 years. Heritage assumed there are 11.5 million illegals, but other estimates put the number at 33 million, which would mean adding another $18 trillion to the deficit. To put that in perspective, the largest U.S. budget deficit in history was $1.4 trillion in 2009.

Currently, the average illegal alien gets about $24,721 in taxpayer-funded benefits and pays about $10,334 in taxes. After full legalization, they will be eligible for a whole new panoply of government benefits such as direct welfare payments, Obamacare, Social Security and Medicare. Heritage concludes that the total government benefits to these former illegal aliens will then rise to about $43,900 per household, while the taxes paid by them will increase only modestly to around $16,000.

Rubio says Heritage’s report is all wrong because it fails to use “dynamic scoring.”

Immigration bill expected to be around 1,500 pages long

April 8, 2013

All the members of the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” pushing immigration reform in the U.S. Senate will band together to block any efforts by other senators to offer amendments to their legislation once it is introduced, the Washington Post reported on Sunday.

Term “Illegal Immigrant” dropped by 22MOON – switching to “Border Jumper”

April 7, 2013

After the Associated Press on Tuesday decided to drop the term “illegal immigrant” and expunge it from its style guide (used by nearly every journalist), activists then immediately began to demand other publications follow suit.
Jose Antonio Vargas, the illegal immigrant who has gained publicity in recent years after he revealed that he did not have citizenship or legal status, tweeted, “You’re next, @nytimes, @latimes, @washingtonpost, @WSJ. No human being is illegal.”
