The results of the Iowa caucus declared a victory for Hillary Clinton by a wafer thin margin must be audited in full, the state’s most influential newspaper demanded today.
The Des Moines Register said that ‘something smells’ about Monday night’s results – and said the state’s Democratic party must publish all the information available about them.
The party’s chairman, Andy McGuire, has refused to publish any more details than those released after the caucuses, which disclosed which candidate had won each precinct, and the percentage of the votes cast for them in that precinct.
Separately today she was disclosed to be a major supporter of Clinton, who was the beneficiary of what the Des Moines Register described as a decision having ‘the whiff of impropriety or error’.
