The union
that represents some
postal workers had to
extend elections and
offer replacement ballots
after the originals were
apparently lost in the mail,
My Fox New York reports
October 8th, 2010.
The American Postal Workers
Union of the AFL-CIO gave a
Thursday deadline for union
members to request replacement
ballots for the election of
union officers.
A statement on the
union Web site stated,
“The APWU Election Committee
extended the deadline for voting
until Oct. 14 because of reports
that a large number of union
members had not received
their ballots.”

.
The first set of ballots
was mailed in Sept. 13-15,
2010.
They were supposed to be
returned by Tuesday, Oct. 5.
The union said that if members
submitted both an original and
a duplicate ballot,
only the duplicate ballot
was to be counted.
It did not release any
information on the number
of ballots that appeared to
have been lost in the mail.
The union
and is separate from the
National Association of
Letter Carriers.
That union represents postal
workers who deliver the mail.
