Whoopi Goldberg provoked
fury yesterday by claiming
Roman Polanski wasn’t
guilty of “rape-rape.”
The actress, 53,
said of his confession
to sex with a girl of 13
in 1977:
“It was something else
but I don’t believe it
was rape-rape.”
She added:
“He went to jail and
when they let him out
he was like
‘This guy’s gonna
give me 100 years.
I’m not staying.’”
She said on
TV’s The View:
“We’re a different
kind of society,
we see things differently.
Would I want my
14-year-old having sex?
Not necessarily,
no.”
.
But Amelia McDonnell-Parry,
of website The Frisky,
accused her of being an
“apologist for rape”.
Filmmaker Polanski, 76,
who was arrested in Zurich,
was told he may languish
in jail fighting extradition.
Lawyers pressed for bail
but Swiss authorities are
worried he will flee.
And a US judicial source
said if he fought extradition
the process
“could take years”.

Whoopi had the perfect opportunity
to uphold all the children of the world
who were being raped.
She could have made a statement
right there on the View supporting the children
she claims to be an advocate of
and shaming the adults who use them like this.
How very sad that she did not.
I am sure she has her reasons.
Maybe this subject hits just
a little too close to home?
Who knows?
It is just sad that perverts
were given another open door
of excuses to keep doing
what they are doing.
