GIRLS Aloud blew away the cobwebs on the first night of their comeback Ten Tour.
The five-piece were lowered on to the stage on giant letters spelling Girls Aloud before opening with first single Sound of the Underground.
After a slightly rusty start they soon got into their stride. It was the band’s first tour in four years but they’ve definitely been putting in the rehearsal hours.
They rattled through all their hits — including Something New and Love Machine — with five costume changes and accompanied by lively backing dancers.
After an encore of I’ll Stand By You and The Promise, they all shouted: “It’s good to be back.” And as the five left in sparkly red dresses, the blokes in the crowd — dragged along by their better halves — couldn’t help but agree.
