Danger of Diet Drinks

February 14, 2019

Two cans of sugar-free fizzy drinks per day could increase a woman’s risk of a heart attack or stroke by almost a third, according to a study.

The major study of over 80,000 women is one of the first times the risk of specific types of stroke in older women who drink diet drinks has been studied.

Study finds Aspartame disrupts your neurotransmitters

Another study proves that artificial sweeteners like aspartame are harmful to your health. The study, which was published in the African Journal of Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicines, has revealed that aspartame damages the brain. In particular, consuming this chemical sweetener for a long time will increase oxidative stress in the brain tissue and will disrupt neurotransmitters that are important in physiological functions.

Diet Drinks promote weight gain

December 1, 2016

Does your weight-loss plan include drinking diet soda?

Well, you may want to rethink that strategy.

A 10-year Harvard study part of your weight-loss plan found the drinks with the artificial sweeteners seem to promote weight gain.

Once again, conventional wisdom proves mistaken.

Diet drinks linked with heart disease and death

March 30, 2014

Older women who drink two or more diet drinks a day are more likely to suffer from heart problems, high blood pressure and diabetes, a new study shows.

Postmenopausal women with a two-a-day soft drink habit were 50 per cent more likely to suffer from cardiovascular-related diseases, the Women’s Health Initiative Observational Study discovered.

They were also 30 per cent more likely to suffer heart attacks and strokes compared to those who consumed the drinks in moderation or not at all.

60,000 women with an average age of 62.8 were asked how many low-calorie fruit drinks and diet soft drinks they had drunk over a three-month period.

Based on the results, the women were then separated into groups – with those who drank two or more diet drinks marked as heavy consumers.

Almost a decade later, researchers asked the women whether they had experienced any heart-related problems, including heart attacks, blood clots and strokes.

‘Heavy consumers’ were found to have suffered the most health problems.

The research also took into account various factors like participants BMI, physical activity levels, and other lifestyle choices.

Aspertame sweetener in diet drinks and other products bad for your health

December 14, 2013

The Obama administration’s Department of Agriculture has released nutrition standards for “competitive” foods and has outlawed snacks considered unhealthy by the nanny state federal government.
“Regular soda is out, though high-schoolers may have access to diet versions,” The Hill reports.
That’s right – the government is recommending our kids drink soda laden with the deadly neurotoxin aspartame.
As usual, the right hand of government has no idea what the left hand is doing… or maybe it does.
Aspartame is so dangerous and detrimental to health, even the FDA has failed to approve it – for two decades running.

Aspartame in milk for school children an evil idea

April 1, 2013

“The integrity of our food supply is poised for another blow. By asking the FDA to alter the definition of “milk” to include chemical sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose without full disclosure will only lead to further distrust among consumers. This is a bad idea for consumers and not a smart idea for the industry either,” explains Sally Fallon Morell, president and founder of the Weston A. Price Foundation.

While aimed principally at replacing sugar in flavored milks served to school children, the petition also asks for the right to put hidden artificial sweeteners in a host of dairy products including nonfat dried milk (always added to reduced-fat milks), yogurt, cream, half-and-half, sour cream, eggnog and whipping cream.

Dangers of Aspartame
Researchers and holistic health advocates have warned about the toxicity of artificial sweeteners for many years:

Thousands of adverse reactions to aspartame have been reported to the FDA, mostly concerned with abnormal brain function, brain tumors, epilepsy and Parkinson’s.

Aspartame sweetener not safe for human health

January 10, 2013

AFP – The EU’s food safety agency on Tuesday launched a public consultation on its draft scientific opinion regarding the safety of the artificial sweetener aspartame.

“All stakeholders and interested parties are invited to comment on the draft opinion through the online public consultation by 15 February 2013,” the European Food Safety Agency said in a statement.

Aspartame strangely approved by the FDA

November 13, 2012

On Oct. 24, NBC news put out an article attempting to refute a recent study, conducted jointly with Harvard Medical School and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, that found that drinking as little as one diet soda sweetened with Aspartame per day could cause an increased risk of leukemia and lymphoma in adults.

Claiming the study was “weak science,” NBC news failed to mention the fact that this latest study is the most thorough on aspartame to date, involving more than 2 million years of human life data spanning 22 years from more than 77,000 women and 48,000 men.
The NBC story also claims “Few reporters read that journal,” in reference to American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, even though it was selected by the Special Libraries Association as one of the top 100 most influential journals in Biology and Medicine over the last 100 years.
