Chelsea Clinton opines about Lincoln’s hat

March 28, 2017

Chelsea Clinton is 37 years old — 19 years past the minimum voting age, 16 years over the legal age to drink, no longer entitled to reflexive press protection as the daughter of a Democratic President or presidential candidate, and thus eligible for ridicule when she deserves it — even if the establishment media’s gatekeepers don’t like it. I’d suggest that if you really have to ask, as Chelsea Clinton did, if a “Make America Great Again” hat seen on a rendering of Abe Lincoln on the cover of a Republican Party dinner program has been “photoshopped,” you deserve every bit of the ridicule coming your way.

King Obama breaks his oath of office repeatedly by violating the Constitution

February 11, 2014

While walking with the French president at Monticello, President Obama was heard saying, “That’s the good thing about being president: I can do anything I want.” Although said in jest, the offhanded comment reveals something about his mindset.

To find the most recent examples of Obama’s cavalier attitude, look no further than the newest change to the Affordable Care Act and the easing of restrictions to immigrants with terror contacts — both done without congressional approval.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked her guest, Fox Senior legal analyst Andrew Napolitano Monday, “Is it legal?” The short answer: no.

“It seems to be getting worse and worse,” Napolitano told Kelly.

“I’m considering filing Articles of Impeachment against Barack Obama”

January 30, 2014

Just hours after he stormed out of President Obama’s State of the Union address Tuesday, Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) announced he’s considering filing articles of impeachment against the president.

“I’m considering filing Articles of Impeachment against Barack Obama,” Stockman announced on a website backing his senate run.

“You see, I walked out of Obama’s State of the Union address last night,” Stockman’s announcement added. “Obama defiantly vowed not only to radically expand the reach of government from cradle to grave, but to smash the Constitution’s restrictions on government power while doing it.”

The Texas congressman explained that he left the president’s speech early because he was upset after “hearing how the president is further abusing his Constitutional powers.”

“I could not bear to watch as he continued to cross the clearly-defined boundaries of the Constitutional separation of powers,” Stockman said in a statement released shortly after the president finished his address. “Needless to say, I am deeply disappointed in the tone and content of tonight’s address.”

Stockman accused the president of promising to “break his oath of office and begin enacting his own brand of law through executive decree.”

“This is a wholesale violation of his oath of office and a disqualifying offense,” he said, adding that the president has steadfastly refused to admit “his policies have failed.”

He continued, accusing the president of advocating a “blueprint for perpetual poverty.”

Not long after releasing the anti-SOTU statement, Stockman raised the issue of impeachment.

“Obama defiantly vowed not only to radically expand the reach of government from cradle to grave, but to smash the Constitution’s restrictions on government power while doing it. His goal is to eliminate our constitutional republic,” he said Wednesday. “Last year I said I would consider impeachment as a last resort to stop Obama’s abuse of power. And, quite frankly, we’re running out of options.”

The U.S. Senate, once referred to as America’s “greatest deliberative body,” has been turned into a rubber-stamp for Obama’s appointments and other whims – with Majority Leader Harry Reid’s illegal rule change eliminating the filibuster for any major appointments. The healthcare bill was never really passed by the House of Representatives, either – since Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi “deemed” it passed before a roll-call vote. Democracy in action?

Rush Limbaugh: Obama doesn’t have the “constitutional power to run this country like a dictator”

January 15, 2014

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday reacted to President Barack Obama’s threat to use more executive orders to “move the ball forward.”

“This is just absurd,” Limbaugh said after playing audio of Obama’s comments. “He’s basically bragging about the fact that he can do executive orders to make things ‘fair.’”

Limbaugh mocked the president, saying that his “entire economic policy has undermined the old saw about work hard and you can make it.”

“Because not only can you not work hard, you can’t work. We’re up to 92 million Americans not in the labor force,” he added. “But this is classic Limbaugh Theorem stuff. This is Obama as an outsider saying he’s looking at Washington and the country, and he sees all of this inequality and all of this unfairness, and he’s just at his wits’ end now.”

Limbaugh also said that though Obama has a “pen” and a “phone,” he doesn’t have the “constitutional power to run this country like a dictator.”

“Yet that’s exactly what it sounds like,” he concluded.

Random drivers asked to turn over saliva, breath and blood samples

November 20, 2013

Some drivers along a busy Fort Worth street on Friday were stopped at a police roadblock and directed into a parking lot, where they were asked by federal contractors for samples of their breath, saliva and even blood.

It was part of a government research study aimed at determining the number of drunken or drug-impaired drivers.

“It just doesn’t seem right that you can be forced off the road when you’re not doing anything wrong,” said Kim Cope, who said she was on her lunch break when she was forced to pull over at the roadblock on Beach Street in North Fort Worth.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is spending $7.9 million on the survey over three years, said participation was “100 percent voluntary” and anonymous.

But Cope said it didn’t feel voluntary to her — despite signs saying it was.

“I gestured to the guy in front that I just wanted to go straight, but he wouldn’t let me and forced me into a parking spot,” she said.

Once parked, she couldn’t believe what she was asked next.

“They were asking for cheek swabs,” she said. “They would give $10 for that. Also, if you let them take your blood, they would pay you $50 for that.”

At the very least, she said, they wanted to test her breath for alcohol.

She said she felt trapped.

“I finally did the Breathalyzer test just because I thought that would be the easiest way to leave,” she said, adding she received no money.

Fort Worth police earlier said they could not immediately find any record of officer involvement but police spokesman Sgt. Kelly Peel said Tuesday that the department’s Traffic Division coordinated with the NHTSA on the use of off-duty officers after the agency asked for help with the survey.

“We are reviewing the actions of all police personnel involved to ensure that FWPD policies and procedures were followed,” he said. “We apologize if any of our drivers and citizens were offended or inconvenienced by the NHTSA National Roadside Survey.”

NBC DFW confirmed that the survey was done by a government contractor, the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, which is based in Calverton, Md.

A company spokeswoman referred questions to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

An agency spokeswoman sent an email confirming the government is conducting the surveys in 30 cities across the country in an effort to reduce impaired-driving accidents.

She did not respond to another email from NBC DFW asking specific questions about the program..

But a Fort Worth attorney who is an expert in civil liberties law questioned whether such stops are constitutional.

“You can’t just be pulled over randomly or for no reason,” said attorney Frank Colosi.

He also noted the fine print on a form given to drivers informs them their breath was tested by “passive alcohol sensor readings before the consent process has been completed.”

“They’re essentially lying to you when they say it’s completely voluntary, because they’re testing you at that moment,” Colosi said.

He also questioned the results of the “voluntary” survey — speculating that drivers who had been drinking or using drugs would be more inclined to simply decline to participate.

Cope said she is troubled by what happened.

“It just doesn’t seem right that they should be able to do any of it,” she said. “If it’s voluntary, it’s voluntary, and none of it felt voluntary.”

Asked Tuesday if she accepted the police department’s apology, Cope said she would wait to see what the review showed.

“They need to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” she said.
