Ohio just says NO to Machiavellian MaryJane Monopoly

November 4, 2015

One of the more bizarre contests in Tuesday’s voting was a ballot initiative ostensibly to legalize marijuana in Ohio.

The ballot measure, Issue 3, would have legalized recreational use of marijuana in the state and allowed the use of marijuana for medicinal reasons. The initiative had a unique, and ultimately fatal, feature, though. It awarded a monopoly on growing pot to just 10 farms in the state.

Issue 3 was rejected by Ohio voters by a 65-35 percent margin. The vote may not be a clear reflection of attitudes towards pot legalization, though.

The pot initiative was ground-breaking far beyond its subject matter. It was, in many ways, a private initiative designed to leverage the ballot process for maximum personal profit. The measure authorized 10 farms to grow legal weed in the state. The 1,100 legal weed shops authorized by the measure would be forced to buy marijuana from one of these 10 farms.

The initiative was the brain-child of political consultant Ian James. With the help of a sports agent, he recruited ten investment groups who each invested $2 million to get the measure on the ballot and fund the campaign’s for its adoption. Each of these groups would receive ownership of one of the 10 authorized pot farms.

Who really murdered Seal Team 6?

November 4, 2015

Back in August [2013], I told you that Extortion 17, the downing of a Chinook helicopter with members of SEAL team 6 onboard (those that allegedly carried out the raid on Osama bin Laden), could be Barack Obama’s biggest scandal and one of his administration’s biggest acts of treason. That report came after an interview I conducted with Billy Vaughn, father of slain Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn, who told Freedom Outpost that he wanted answers and those who were responsible for his son’s death to be held accountable. Now, many of the families believe that the incident, which has been deemed the largest loss of life in the Afghan war theater (38 deaths, including nearly two dozen Navy SEALs), was an inside job.

Professor admits it’s acceptable to criticize Christians but not Muslims

November 4, 2015

During a panel discussion on religious liberty last week at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., prominent atheist professor Phil Zuckerman declared what we’ve all known but that many still refuse to admit: it’s acceptable to criticize Christians but not Muslims because Christians won’t violently retaliate, reports CNS News.

Also on the panel was Kirsten Powers, a Democratic pundit and recent convert to Catholicism, who questioned why the left targets Christians who oppose same-sex marriage but take a hands-off stance toward Muslims for the same belief. She cited Steven Crowder’s hidden video recordings made earlier this year in which Muslim bakers in Michigan refused his request to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding:

“If these had been Christian bakeries, it would have been on the front page of the New York Times, so I’m wondering why we’re able to have this amicable, disagreement with Muslims for having this view. Why are we not able to do that with Christians?

ISIS bomber wins latest Darwin Award – VIDEO

November 4, 2015

An ‘ISIS fighter’ who rode his motorbike into a city with a suicide belt wrapped around him was cut in half after his bomb went off ahead of schedule.

The dying man, who is missing his legs, is filmed by a crowd of stunned men in the street.

One man shouts “he is from ISIS” as the witnesses edge nearer and nearer to the stunned man who is bleeding from his torso.

Another man shouts at the crowd and asks why they are filming a dying man and tells them to leave the area.
