Obama worshipping Media is destroying itself

January 21, 2013

On Thursday, while looking wistfully back at Obama’s first four years, NBC News accidentally did some actual reporting. In a First Read article that opened with the question, “Is the nation better off than it was four years ago,” senior political director, Mark Murray, did something that neither he, nor NBC News, nor the mainstream media was willing to do during this last presidential campaign: report on Obama’s record.

But there it finally was: The Truth — and from NBC News, no less. Poverty’s up (from 43.6 million to 46.2 million), middle class incomes are down ($50k compared to $52k), the deficit’s exploded (from $10 trillion to $16 trillion), food stamp recipients have skyrocketed (33.5 million to 46.6 million), unemployment hasn’t budged, and the same number of people are without health insurance today as there were in 2009.

Still, NBC News couldn’t even bring itself to report the most damning Obamanomics numbers: a population so despondent by a lack of jobs that enough people have dropped out to shrink the labor market to levels unseen since the 1980s. A chronic long-term unemployment problem unseen in this country since World War II. An unemployment rate disproportionately savaging blacks and Hispanics.

Where was all this news during the 2012 campaign when Obama was applying for a promotion and Romney was applying to replace him?

We know the answer. Rather than report Truth, the media locked arms and circled Obama’s palace in order to protect him from the mindless hordes of racist, sexist Neanderthals who dared criticize The Lightbringer. The media’s weapons of choice were distraction and lies:

Danny Glover teaches revisionist history

January 21, 2013

ctor and hardcore progressive Danny Glover should add revisionist historian to his growing resume of left-wing activism after a recent visit to Texas A&M University where he told students that the Second Amendment was mainly meant to keep African Americans in slavery and to kill Native American peoples.

Martin Luther King’s dream was not King Obama

January 21, 2013

President Barack Obama takes office today on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for the second time as the first black president of the United States. If his election and re-election represent the fulfillment of Dr. King’s vision in a superficial sense, Obama’s goal of “fundamentally transforming” the United States into a government-centered social democracy represents one of the deeply challenging aspects of Dr. King’s legacy.
The great tragedy of civil rights movements–not just in the United States, but across the world–is that the end of discrimination has been closely tied to the start of state-directed redistribution. The result is that many of those who were formerly held down by the state believe that their success depends on state intervention. And the terrible irony is that the state’s role ensures that many who begin their freedom on the bottom rung, stay there.
In the U.S., the end of Jim Crow in the South was swiftly followed by the Great Society, which created perverse incentives for individuals not to work and families to split apart. In South Africa, affirmative action actually came before the end of apartheid, because the white minority government wanted to create a small black middle class as a buffer against political change. “Black economic empowerment” after apartheid enriched a few wealthy, politically-connected blacks while the many of the poorest became poorer.
And yet in both countries, the intended beneficiaries of these policies, who are in fact the victims of these policies, continue to elect politicians who promise to continue them. These voters do so partly out of deeply-internalized fear that they cannot compete on a level playing field, and partly out of suspicion that the old privileged castes, freed from the obligation to redistribute wealth and opportunity, would simply hoard them again.

Tiger Woods begs ex-Wife Elin to re-marry him

January 21, 2013

HORN-DOG golfer TIGER WOODS is so desperate to win back his ex-wife ELIN NORDEGREN that he offered her a whopping $200 million prenup to marry him again, sources tell The ENQUIRER.

Elin, who reaped a $110 million payday in their 2010 divorce settlement, told him she’d consider it – but only if he was willing to ink a $350 million anti-cheating clause in the wedding contract.

“That’s more than half of Tiger’s $600 million fortune, an amount which she feels is enough to keep him from straying and put her firmly in control of their relationship,” said a source. “Tiger didn’t even balk at the demand. Even though his accountants think he’s crazy, he’s ready to sign the prenup and set a wedding date.

“The guy has never recovered from being dumped by Elin. He’s dated lots of models and bimbos, but none of them were more than a one-night stand.

“He’s 37 years old, his golf game isn’t what it used to be, and Tiger is beginning to realize that Elin and their two children are what really matter to him most.”

Once golf ’s greatest superstar, Tiger’s career and marriage fell apart after The ENQUIRER revealed his affair with a New York party girl, and his secret life as a serial cheater was exposed.

Since their bombshell divorce, Elin, 33, has dated several men, including wealthy financier Jamie Dingman. But the romances went nowhere for the mom of Tiger’s two cubs – daughter Sam, 5, and son Charlie, 3 – and the golf legend repeatedly begged her to take him back, sources say.

“Tiger swore that he’d never cheat on her again, but Elin told him that she didn’t believe him,” said an insider.

Despite that, Tiger continued to pursue her, and last November, he actually got down on one knee and proposed, the insider added.

To prove his proposal is the real deal, Tiger not only agreed to Elin’s prenup terms but also presented her with a pricey ring for Christmas. And now they’re even having sex again, sources say. “Tiger stopped by Elin’s rental house one afternoon when their kids were out with a nanny and they had sex for the first time since they split,” said another source.

“It took them both by surprise, but they’ve continued to find alone time when they’re both at their homes in Florida.”

rescind his offer when he heard there were pictures on the Internet of Elin and a young hunk vacationing at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas in early January.

“Turns out the guy was Elin’s brother Axel, and Tiger breathed a sigh of relief,” said the source. “He and Elin actually got a big laugh out of it.

“Tiger told me, ‘I love Elin. Without her, I’ll be miserable for the rest of my life.’”

Debunking the Sandy Hook Debunkers

January 21, 2013

During the age of Obama, the major media have gone fully AWOL. If they fear that their reporting will lead to inconvenient discoveries, they simply stop their advance, lay down their notebooks, and disappear. This trend began in the Clinton years and picked up momentum after the 1994 electoral debacle, but the Clintons at least worried that the media might turn on them.
If Barack Obama ever had any such anxiety, the nonreporting on Fast and Furious, Benghazi and now Sandy Hook has had to reassure him. Sandy Hook is particularly disturbing because the truth is, or at least should have been, so accessible. This tragedy should never have spawned anything like a conspiracy theory, but it obviously has.
Protecting the major media’s flank during retreat are many and sundry well-funded leftist blogs — Huffington Post, The Daily Kos, Media Matters, and TPM among others. While the major media withdraw, the blogs attack those who might challenge the “narrative” the majors have left behind.
