Gary Glitter
is considering legal
action against TV bosses
if they broadcast a
fictional new show in
which he appears to be
hanged for his crimes,

The Execution
of Gary Glitter,
billed as a “courtroom drama
shot in the style of a
documentary”, depicts the
paedophile rocker becoming
the first person to be tried
under a new Capital Crimes
Against Children law in an
imaginary Britain where the
death penalty has been
re-introduced.

But lawyers for
the shamed star –
real name Paul Gadd –
fear the program puts
Glitter back in the spotlight
against his will, and have
written to TV bosses
demanding it be withdrawn.

A source tells
the Daily Mirror,
“Glitter complained he hadn’t
seen an advance copy of the
film and it would unfairly
raise his profile.
There was widespread
incredulity when his
letter landed.
There are no plans to
shelve the show.”

Gadd was jailed in
Vietnam in 2005 for sexually
assaulting two young girls.

He was released in 2008
and returned to his native
Britain.

The 90-minute film is
due to air on Monday.
