One Response to “UK hairstylist lambasted for using words forbidden by his color”
While I agree that this guy made racial statements that he shouldn’t have…blaming the booze bottle, of course…these thoughts still had to have been in his head prior to too much nipping at the bottle. Yes, an apology was necessary.
That said, let me also say that if a race does not like nor want other races to use certain words because these words are felt to be demeaning and hurtful, this race should also stop using these very same words as words of friendship and comraderie among those of it’s own race.
Why?
Because when these words are repeatedly heard in public by other races, these words stop sounding ‘bad’. Other races become desensitized and start rationalizing that if these words hurt so much, why is the very race these words were originally aimed at using these words?
While some could justify the using of these words for terms of friendship and comraderie, please remember that a mixed message is never good.
And just like propaganda, there will always be those who, after hearing these words used in a ‘fun’ way over a period of time, will start believing that these words are now ‘fun’ to use…which, like propaganda, is a lie.
