I love this stuff.
I buy it by the cases about 3 times a year.
I have noticed that I cannot lose weight
(I have gained 10-15 lbs) since I started
drinking Trop A Rocka.
I have also noticed other
changes in my body during this time.
Thinking about not drinking this very tasty
drink that I told everyone was sooooo good.
Bret Michaels has diabetes and I have
read that this drink can cause diabetes.
Bret has enought pull to get this drink
to a healthy level and still taste great.
Do the right thing Bret.
Great article!
As soon as bret mentioned diet
on the show I thought aspartame.
It is in everything!
Thanks for sharing the info!

Thank You for the great comment Joeltall!
I thought the same thing when I was
watching Celebrity Apprentice,
so I made a trip to the grocery store
the next day just to check on my
suspicions.
Lo and behold,
dangerous Aspartame
was in Bret’s tea!
I hope Bret finds out somehow
Aspartame is very bad for
people with diabetes –
(AND VERY BAD FOR
PEOPLE WITHOUT DIABETES!!!)
Thank You for your great comment,
I was working for hours on that one story,
but it is important people know about
DANGEROUS ASPARTAME.
You really made my
night noticing that story,
I was afraid maybe it
was falling on deaf ears,
as the saying goes.
I need MOON readers
healthy and not dead.
Thank You for the cool comment and
Thank You for reading 22MOON!

Aspartame can also trigger
migraines in certain people.
I am one of them!
Dot Bradley - May 31, 2010 at 10:36 pm |
Thank You for adding that Dot!
I drank ASPARTAME a few times
before i did research on it and my
fingertips would tingle and feel
partly numb.
My ex-girlfriend used to chew
diet gum all the time with ASPARTAME
in it and she suddenly developed Fibromyalgia.
That is when i started doing research
on the chemical and my eyes were opened.
To be fair to Snapple,
Diet Pepsi and
Coke Zero contain
ASPARTAME also.
Thank You for commenting Dot and
Thank You for reading 22MOON!

(A great safe sweetener is STEVIA –
all natural and sweeter than sugar.)

My daughter is a Type I (juvenile) diabetic,
as is Bret Michaels.
We have been disappointed that we
could not find Troparocka in the market.
While aspartemine and sucralose have side effects –
if you eat or drink enough for an elephant every day,
a small drink should not cause that problem.
Of course, there are two alternatives:
one is Green Leaf Stevia (available at health food stores);
in fact, the leaves of Stevia are not only sweet,
but they are natural prophylactics to prevent
pregnancy if you suck on enough of them 3x/day.
Indians used Stevia for centuries.
Do not confuse with “Truvia” that carries
with it a taste not as satisfactory and calories
Stevia does not provide.
The other alternative would be to
use passionfruit in the Troparocka.
Passionfruit is sweet enough to
sweeten the rest of the drink.
C’mon, Bret –
change the recipe,
but we want that Troparocka!!!

Oh, c’mon.
I use so little artificial sweetener
that I have absolutely no worry about
any of those medical risks you mentioned.
I refuse to ingest processed sugar
so I opt to use honey and then sometimes
artificial sweeteners.
Honestly,
artificial sweeteners are so much sweeter than sugar,
that just a pinch is enough in a cup of coffee.
Are you telling me that a pinch or two
of an aspartame based sweetener everyday i
s going to cause those types of medical risks?
I call BS.

I would never tell readers
what to eat or not eat,
I am not Michelle Obama.
In my own case,
if I ingest any Aspartame,
the ends of my fingertips tingle.
Have you tried STEVIA yet?
It is all natural,
far sweeter than sugar
and zero calories.
I use honey in my coffee.
Honey is also a
natural anti-depressant.
I never tell readers
what to do,
I just offer information
I find on the Internet
and leave it up to
readers to think
for themselves.
Thank You for the comment and
Thank You for reading 22MOON Jonny.

does sweetex have the same effect please let me know
mary von seidel - February 3, 2011 at 1:07 pm |
Hi Mary,
I did some research
and found this
SWEETEX
Ingredients
Sweetener
(Sodium Saccharin),
Anticaking Agents
(Silicon Dioxide,
Magnesium Stearate)
http://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Sweetex-Sweetener/11269011
You might want to try
all natural STEVIA Sweetener
instead.
It is ZERO calories
and sweeter than sugar.

I hope this helps Mary.
