Peter Varkonyl proved
the existence of a long
theorized three dimensional
shape called the
Gomboc,
the website
GAJITZ.COM reports.
In effect,
they discovered an
entirely new shape.
A Gomboc is a self-righting
object with exactly one
unstable equilibrium point.
It is built of just one
material (homogeneous)
and convex
(Meaning the sides are
not allowed to bulge
inwards.)
Mathematicians has assumed
that such a shape simply
did not exist.
