Britney Spears may be on the road to recovery but it seems she’s not quite ready for a comeback.
The Toxic singer has quashed rumours she will attend the Video Music Awards.
The rumours started when the mother-of-two appeared in a promotional video with host Russell Brand, rapper LL Cool J, and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz.

None of us can forget her shambolic performance at last year’s show when she performed Gimme More while looking dazed walking across the stage.
Britney’s manager Larry Rudolph told Ryan Seacrest’s radio show: “Britney is in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at that show.
“Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I’m telling you officially and unequivocally.”
With Britney securing two nominations in the Best Female and Best Pop Video categories for her track Piece of Me, it’ll still be interesting to see if she does appear.
