Neena Nejad, a Los Angeles-based producer, has been working for almost two years now on a film documentary about Amina and Sarah Said, the two Muslim girls in Texas who were murdered by their father in an Islamic honor killing on New Year’s Eve 2008. Nejad and her team have been working with many people and have uncovered some provocative new information about the girls’ father, Yaser Said — information that has never been revealed in public before.

March 18, 2012Laura Wilson, 17, was repeatedly knifed in the head by her Asian boyfriend Ashtiaq Ashgar on a secluded tow path after their relationship turned sour.
Her mother, who has never spoken publicly before, believes her daughter was murdered because she challenged the code of ethics which some ethnic communities still follow.
It is thought that Miss Wilson could be the first white victim of an honour killing in Britain.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mrs Wilson said: “I honestly think it was an honour killing for putting shame on the family. They needed to shut Laura up and they did.”
Miss Wilson lived in Ferham Park, an Asian and white community in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

This has been going on for years. When Amina and Sarah Said were brutally murdered by their father, also in Texas, on New Year’s Day 2008 for the same reason — having non-Muslim boyfriends — I thought, this is it. This is going to break the dam wide open. America would not, could not possibly, ignore this horror caused by and sanctioned by Islamic beliefs, assumptions, and attitudes.
And yet America continues to ignore this horror. And more and more people are victimized every day.
