returns to Belfast

OCTOBER 15TH, 2008
Pink will be preparing to get the party started when the singer returns to Belfast next year as part of a new European tour.
The raunchy rock chick, who has sold more than 23 million albums worldwide, will play the Odyssey Arena on April 22 as well as the O2 Arena in Dublin on April 19.
This will be the third time the Brit and Grammy Award-winning performer has played in Belfast. Her last show in 2006 — which received rave reviews — sold out and an extra date had to be added because of demand.
It is expected her two Irish dates will sell out just as quickly given the popstar just scored her second UK number one with her single, So What, from her soon to be released fifth studio album, Funhouse.
The single also reached the top spot in Germany, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and has also moved to poll position on the US charts, making it Pink’s first solo number one in her home country.
Speaking after the tour date announcement, the 29-year-old said she could not wait to be back in Europe.
“I’m so excited to get back on the road,” she said. “The Funhouse tour ideas are running rampant in my head. Who knows what they’ll come out as? And I can’t wait to see.”
Since her debut in 2000, Pink has been hailed as a fearlessly talented singer/songwriter not afraid of creative risk-taking.
Tickets for the Dublin and Belfast shows go on sale this Friday, October 17.
